With MGM easily winning Prince George’s County’s cherished, single casino license, most Bellevue residents will be able to drive 9 whole minutes (with the loot from under our mattresses) to go blow it in style!

Opening in 2016, MGM National Harbor will feature:

  • 3,600 slots & 140 table games
  • 300-room hotel
  • 1,200-seat theater
  • 35,000 square feet of meeting space
  • high-end retail
  • at least four restaurants from big name chefs
  • and me . . . chillin’! Hard!

One of the many residual benefits of this great news is that it bodes quite well for that particular section of Prince George’s County, which encompasses the Eastover Shopping Center. And since one must pass by Eastover if one uses South Capitol Street in DC (which becomes Indian Head Highway in Maryland) to get to either National Harbor, Tanger Outlets, the Gaylord Hotel, and soon MGM, I’d assume that Maryland is already thinking about how to not only improve that area’s image and safety, but also to capitalize on the impending density of traffic, tourists, and most importantly, consumers.
